The Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers will square off at State Farm Stadium this upcoming Monday night in NFL action.

The Buffalo Bills improved to 8-3 on the season after defeating the Los Angeles Charges, 27-17, this past Sunday. Buffalo was committed three turnovers, however, the defense was solid on keeping Los Angeles off the scoreboard and the Bills were able to pull away after taking a 24-6 lead early in the 3rd quarter on a 3-yard TD run by Josh Allen. Buffalo was outgained by Los Angeles by a 367-332 margin, however, won the turnover battle by a 3-1 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Bills was QB Josh Allen who completed 18 of 24 passes for 157 yards, 1 TD, & 1 INT while also adding a rushing TD.

On the season, Buffalo is averaging 27.2 ppg on 384.5 total yards per game (280.2 passing yds/g; 104.4 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Buffalo has been led by QB Josh Allen who has completed 68.8% of his passes for 3,028 yards (304.6 yds/g), 22 TD, & 8 INT. Allen is also the 2nd leading rusher for the Bills as he has 311 yards & 6 TD’s on 81 carries. The top receiving threats for the Bills have been Stefon Diggs (80 rec, 945 yards, 4 TD), Cole Beasley (57 rec, 667 yards, 3 TD), John Brown (29 rec, 386 yards, 2 TD), and Gabriel Davis (22 rec, 354 yards, 4 TD). Leading the way for the Buffalo backfield is the duo of Devin Singletary (110 att, 483 yards, TD) and Zack Moss (68 att, 283 yards, 3 TD).

Defensively, Buffalo is allowing their opponents to average 25.6 ppg on 387.8 total yards per game (258.2 passing yds/g; 129.6 rushing yds/g).

The San Francisco 49ers snapped their 3-game losing streak and improved to 5-6 on the season after upsetting the Los Angeles Rams, 23-20, this past Sunday. The San Francisco defense did an outstanding job of slowing down the Los Angeles offensive attack and was able to secure the victory on a game-winning 42-yard FG by Robbie Gould as time expired. San Francisco outgained Los Angeles by a 348-308 margin and forced Los Angeles into committing 4 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the 49ers was WR Deebo Samuel who has 11 receptions for 133 yards.

On the season, San Francisco is averaging 23.7 ppg on 382.3 total yards per game (270.0 passing yds/g; 112.3 rushing yds/g). Offensively, San Francisco is led by RB Raheem Mostert who has 346 yards & 2 TD’s on 67 attempts. Mostert returned from injury last week and is also joined in the backfield with Jerick McKinnon (80 att, 315 yards, 5 TD), Jeff Wilson Jr. (50 att, 206 yards, 4 TD), and Tevin Coleman (21 att, 50 yards). QB Nick Mullens (67.5 Comp %, 1,642 yards, 6 TD, 7 INT) will continue to start for the injured Jimmy Garoppolo (67.1 Comp %, 1,096 yards, 7 TD, & 5 INT). The top receiving threats for the 49ers have been George Kittle (37 rec, 474 yards, 2 TD), Brandon Aiyuk (35 rec, 446 yards, 3 TD), Kendrick Bourne (32 rec, 412 yards, 1 TD), and Deebo Samuel (27 rec, 318 yards, TD). The 49ers will be without George Kittle however, they do have a chance of having Brandon Aiyuk back in the lineup.

Defensively, San Francisco is holding their opponents to an average of 23.1 ppg on 326.4 total yards per game (217.6 passing yds/g; 108.7 rushing yds/g).

Bills 49ers prediction today

The Bills are 9-4-2 ATS in their last 15 road games, however, are just 1-4 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. The 49ers are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 Monday games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

Buffalo comes into with an 8-3 record, however, I haven’t been a huge fan with how the Bills have looked as of late as they weren’t impressive in recent victories against the Jets & Patriots and were a bit off in their win against the Chargers. San Francisco picked up a huge win against the Rams and between the fact that their offense got back two of their main weapons in Raheem Mostert & Deebo Samuel and that I think their defense will have another strong performance, I think the play here to take San Francisco and the points. Good Luck!

Brett’s PickSan Francisco 49ers +2.5

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.

The Buffalo Bills will travel back to the scene of the crime on Monday as the San Francisco 49ers await.

Last weekend, the 49ers (5-6) won on a last-second play, which actually will make this one a bit more fun, won’t it? The Bills (8-3) also continued their march toward their first AFC East title since 1995. Huge and obvious playoff implications for both sides here.

Plus, the primetime lights on Monday Night Football will be shining bright.

With that, here are five things to watch for and a prediction ahead of Week 13’s Bills-49ers meeting:

Playing in Arizona

The scene of the crime mentioned is the Hail Murray from when the Bills faced the Cardinals in Arizona a few weeks ago. You’re going to see those images all over your TV on Monday, so prepare. We’ll see Buffalo head back there for the 49ers because of new COVID-19 related restrictions in San Francisco. They’ve been relocated for this one.

But in doing so, how does that affect the 49ers? And for those of us who like the novelty of the thing, do the Cardinals dress up the stadium at all for their guests? The 49ers and Cards are division rivals, after all. Imagine the Dolphins setting up Hard Rock Stadium for the Bills?

Playmaker battles

Helping the 49ers upset the Rams in Week 12 was Deebo Samuel. The wideout had 11 catches and 133 receiving yards in his first game since Week 7. Who put up no stats against the Rams was Brandon Aiyuk as the rookie was placed on the 49ers’ Reserve/COVID-19 list for that outing.

Bills 49ers Prediction

Which means a marquee battle will be Samuel and Aiyuk vs. Tre’Davious White and Levi Wallace. White’s played all season as Buffalo’s No. 1 cornerback, but just last week was the first time in the entire year both Wallace and Josh Norman featured in a game without someone getting hurt or missing the game in general. The result was Wallace being Buffalo’s No. 2 cornerback, and he’ll have an important role this week.

Niners quarterback Nick Mullens will want to help his running game out by getting the ball to his playmakers outside, and as Samuel’s 11 catches show, Mullens can do just that. Take that away, the rest of the Bills defense can focus on the run.

How does D-line arrangement work?

Bills 49ers Prediction Action

We’ll guess that the answer to this is AJ Epenesa and Harrison Phillips in with Trent Murphy out again. But how does the Bills defensive line vs. the 49ers look?

Bills 49ers Prediction Stat Salt

Murphy was scratched last week so Epenesa and Darryl Johnson could get more playing time. In addition, Phillips was brought back in the middle at tackle. The Bills bottled up the run really well last week against the Bolts and had constant pressure on quarterback Justin Herbert, leading to his worst game of the year.

Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott, as we’ve seen with the offensive line, very much believes in a… if it don’t broke, don’t fix it approach. That’s where our guess, of sorts, comes in.

Today

Run game commitment?

What’s going to happen with the run game… on offense? Against the Chargers, the Bills had their biggest commitment to it all season. Running backs Devin Singletary and Zack Moss took off and even quarterback Josh Allen got in on the designed carries. Buffalo had 172 total rushing yards.

More of the same vs. the Niners? Or do we see another Allen unleashing?

Top defense despite injuries

Remember how the Patriots were hurt the most from opt outs this season due to COVID? Well the old-fashion way caught the 49ers more than anyone in 2020: The injury bug.

Pass rusher Nick Bosa, tight end George Kittle and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo are among the many guys this team is missing due to injury. But despite that, they’ve still produced some solid games, as their record indicates. Specifically on defense, they’ve had some good, savvy players, keeping them in the playoff race.

Names to watch: CB Jason Verrett (PFF’s 5th best cornerback in 2020), S Jimmie Ward (7th), LB Fred Warner (5th), DE Arik Armstead (19th), and Richard Sherman (N/A).

Prediction: Bills 28, 49ers 17

While the 49ers got some playmakers back recently and still have a stout defense, the Bills have shown in 2020 they can beat a lot tougher opponents than the Niners. The 49ers offense thrives on the run game, especially since Mullens is pulling the strings, but in recent weeks, the Bills have shown their overall defense is improving. Run defense included.

Even if Allen doesn’t get a perfect run game to complement him on the opposite side of the ball, the Bills should have plenty of firepower to beat the 49ers. But the most telling thing is the list of teams the Niners have beaten in 2020: The Jets, Giants, Rams twice, and Patriots. Not exactly the best grouping of teams. In fact, a very flawed list. While the Niners are keeping afloat in a loaded NFC West, the Bills should take this one.
